Help & FAQ
Answers to the questions people ask most.
How are ratings made?
Creators rate each ship from 1 to 5 overall, plus firepower, survivability, mobility, versatility and air defense. Tap a creator on a ship page to see their take, pros and cons, and loadouts.
Why doesn't a ship have a rating?
Nobody has rated it yet. Unrated ships still have a page with full stats, and ratings get added over time.
Are the stats fully upgraded?
Yes. When the official wiki lists upgrade levels, the site shows the fully upgraded value. Items with no upgrade levels show the single value the wiki lists.
What is Surface burst?
The damage of every weapon that can hit ships, fired once until its magazine is empty, added together. SLBMs are included.
What is Underwater burst?
The same idea, for every weapon that can hit submarines.
What is Anti-air DPM?
Damage per minute of everything that can hit aircraft and missiles, with reload time included.
What is Air-wing burst?
Everything the ship's helicopters, aircraft, drones and unmanned boats carry, fired once until empty. Tap an aircraft in a loadout to see its weapons.
What does the lock icon mean?
That equipment only fits that ship and can't be swapped out.
How do I use the Tier List Maker?
Drag ships into the rows on a computer. On a phone, tap a ship, then tap a row. Rename rows, change their colours or add new ones. Your list saves in your browser. Use “Share link” to send it to someone, or “Download image” to post it.
How do I compare ships?
Open Compare and pick up to three ships, or press Compare on any ship page. The best value in each row is highlighted, and the link can be shared.
I found a mistake. What do I do?
Please tell us. Use “Report a mistake” at the bottom of any page and include the ship or item name.
Is this the official Modern Warships site?
No. Creator Ratings is a fan site and is not affiliated with Artstorm or Gaijin Entertainment.
